The company has now transformed its business model and operates as an Electronics Manufacturing Services provider. It has become one of India’s top five export-oriented companies in the sector. Bhagwati Products Limited currently manufactures devices in India for major global brands including Vivo, Oppo, and Realme, all of which operate at high production volumes. This strategic positioning has strengthened India’s role in global smartphone production.
Government policy has also played a critical role in accelerating this growth. The Production Linked Incentive scheme has significantly boosted local manufacturing and export capacity by offering financial incentives to companies that expand production within India and strengthen export performance. The scheme has been instrumental in attracting large-scale investments in the electronics sector.
Global technology giants such as Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics have also contributed to India’s rising export figures by expanding their manufacturing base in the country. Apple, in particular, has increasingly positioned India as an alternative manufacturing hub after China, further reinforcing India’s growing importance in global electronics supply chains.
The combined impact of policy support, global investment, and domestic manufacturing expansion has positioned India’s smartphone industry on a strong growth trajectory, marking a decisive shift in the country’s industrial and export profile.
